“OK, Papa,” says one of the Borglings, “Why are you writing this blog?”

“It doesn’t matter,” I answer. “The real question is this: do you find it useful? Or at least more useful than the cat videos that you might watch, or the video games you might play, or Instagram posts you might read instead of reading this?”

“I don’t know,” the Borgling answers. “You haven’t written anything yet,”

“Fair enough,” I say.

“What do you intend to write?” The Borgling says.

“Yeah,” says a random reader. “What are you going to write? And what the heck is a Borgling anyway?”

“I’ll explain the Borg and the Borglings later” I answer. “Mostly I’m going to write things that wish someone had told me when was growing up.”

“Do you think that these ‘Borglings’—whatever they are—will read it? Do you think anyone will?”

“I don’t know,” I answer. “I’m just getting started. And by the way, here’s a post about getting started.

“That was interesting,” says the random reader, after following the link and returning here. “Will you let me know when you write something else?”

“Sure,” I say. “Just click this link and sign up.”

“Really,” says someone else. “Is it that easy?”

“Yep,” I say. “Just click this link ”

“Which one,” asks someone else. “The first one or the second one?”

“Either one,” I say. “Just make sure you sign up.”

“How?” asks someone who was not paying much attention.

“Click this link and sign up.”
